Dry Canyon Is A Two-Mile-Long Canyon Tucked Between Corral Canyon To The East And Solstice Canyon To The West. An Intermittent Stream Flows Through The Canyon And Merges With Solstice Creek, Less Than A Half Mile Before It Enters The Ocean At Dan Blocker State Beach. The Dry Canyon Trail, The Least Used Trail In Solstice Canyon Park, Leads Up The Canyon Through Oak And Sycamore Woodlands. The Path Leads To An Overlook Of A Seasonal, Free-Falling Waterfall. The Majority Of The Time, Dry Creek Is Dry, As The Name Implies. To Witness The 150-Foot Waterfall, It Is Best To Go After A Rain. When The Fall Is Active, The Long, Slender Waterfall Drops Gracefully Off The Hillside Cliffs.

To The Trailhead

From Santa Monica, Drive 14.3 Miles Northbound On The Pacific Coast Highway/Highway 1 To Corral Canyon Road And Turn Right. (Corral Canyon Road Is Located 2.5 Miles West Of Malibu Canyon Road And 3.5 Miles East Of Kanan Dume Road.) Continue 0.2 Miles To The Gated Entrance On The Left.

Turn Left, Entering The Park, And Drive 0.3 Miles To The Parking Lot At Road’S End.

The Hike

From The Parking Area, Hike 20 Yards Back Down The Road To The Signed Dry Creek Trail On The Left. Head North Into The Mouth Of The Side Canyon. Pass Through A Grassy Oak Grove On The Well-Defined Trail, Parallel To Dry Creek.

Cross The Creek And Gain Elevation To The End Of The Maintained Trail At 0.6 Miles. Dry Canyon Falls, When Active, Can Be Seen Across The Narrow Canyon On The Left. This Overlook Is The Turn-Around Spot.

To Hike Farther, The Trail Continues A Short Distance To The End Of The Canyon, Where Switchbacks Lead Up The Canyon Wall To Corral Canyon Road. Beyond The Overlook, The Trail Is Not Maintained And Becomes Overgrown With Brush.
