Behind the Scenes of a Boulangerie French Bakery Tour in Paris
Oh boy, it’s going to be a beautiful day. Can you smell that? You can’t smell it, but I can. I’m going into a bakery to meet some people to show me how to make baguettes and pastries. We are in the back of the bakery now and this is the good stuff. This is pastries, all of the sweet stuff, and the guy behind me right now is making chocolate eclairs. Does it get better than that?
I don’t think it does, check it out. I bet you thought it was simple to make a croissant, but it’s not. First of all, you cut all the triangles. Now, he’s rolling them up, and it’s almost like magic. He goes so fast, you can’t even see it happen and almost done, boom. He has this beautiful rolled up little croissant. It’s incredible. I feel like I’m in an artists studio, and it is so incredible to read each one of these guys work their craft. You go to a bakery, and you look in the window, and you see all these beautiful creations, and it does look like art.

Art that you can eat is the best kind of art. I’m going to try to explain to you how they make baguettes. First they put all of the ingredients in this machine. They turn it around for a while, then they put it into another machine, it cuts it. These perfect little slices. Then, he puts it in this conveyor belt thing, and he rolls them all. He brings them over here and slices them and throws them into the oven, and voila. You have a nice fresh baguette. I’ve unsheet my baguette. It’s been a good day at the bakery. Au revior.
