Before it was a pizzeria, Revolution served as a boardinghouse and private residence. It was built in 1906 as the home for a prominent local doctor, Thomas Costner, and is still known as the Costner House. The Queen Anne home remains much of its original charm, so be sure to take in the gabled roof, flared eaves, and oversized front porch while ordering a slice and a beer. The menu includes red and white pies with all of the traditional toppings and a few creative choices like ni^oise olives, grilled-vegetable ratatouille, smoked provolone, aged gouda, and white truffle oil. It’s not just a pizza joint; the menu also has salads, sandwiches, and small plates.
