Cross the bridge beside the ford (you can paddle through if you insist!) and continue briefly up the road beyond, but almost immediately turn right onto a track heading uphill.
You are now into the second half of the walk, and approaching the best section of all. Your track climbs steadily, and in just under half a mile bends quite markedly to the left. Soon after this left bend you reach a crossroads of paths, with a clear track going off to the right. Take this right-hand turn and follow the track, still rising and ignoring paths leading off to the right and left.
