HISTORY

Early settlement traces, namely an early stone age settlement as well as Dacrian and Roman. The first mention of Bucharest dates from 1459. At the end of the 16th century the center of Walachia was burnt down by the Ottomans, rebuilt in the 17th century and was in the 19th century in the center of the 1848 revolution and the struggle for the union of the Romanian princedoms.
