The Krannert Art Museum is a 48.000 square-foot facility with ten galleries and a collection of 9,000 works of art Three of the galleries are devoted to temporary exhibitions, while the remainder display works from the permanent collection. The Museums permanent collection consists of African art. with a special emphasis on objects from various West and Central African cultures; Asian art, from the cultures of China. Korea, Japan, India, and Thailand; Twentieth Century art, including paintings and sculptures by such artists as Muenter. Beckmann, Guston, Stella, and Warhol; European and American art from the 16th through the 19th centuries; ceramics, glass, and silver from the Renaissance to the present; ancient Mediterranean art from Egypt, Greece, and Italy; Medieval art, including painting, stained glass, and ivory; and pre-Columbian art from various Peruvian cultures.

Charleston Eastern Illinois University – Tarble Arts Center

Tne Tarble Arts Center presents a year-round schedule of changing visual arts exhibitions. It also has a permanent collection consisting of 1,000 pieces, including a 500-piece collection of 20th-century Illinois folk art: works on paper by contemporary Midwestern artists, including Jasper Johns and Claus Oldenberg: and prints by American Regionalists, such as Benton, Curry, Kent, Sample, Soyer. and Wood.

ARC Gallery is a non-profit womens cooperative gallery, providing opportunities for emerging woman artists. The Gallery has monthly group shows and member shows in its galleries. It also offers exhibit opportunities to non-members and reserves another gallery for community-based exhibits. ARC’s RAW SPACE is one of the nations oldest spaces devoted exclusively to the exhibition of installation art. The Media Room, ARCS most recent innovation, is dedicated to electronic artists working with video and computer formats displayed on single channel video.
