Some of Charlotte’s most notable sights, restaurants, nightlife, and lodgings are outside of the main neighborhoods. Explore Ballantyne, a planned community located in the southernmost corner of Charlotte, or venture to University City, on the north side of town to walk the trails at Reedy Creek Park and Nature Preserve.
He and his parents, Madison and Suzanne Murphy, searched Miami Map Tourist Attractions for an ideal setting for a vineyard and winery. In 2007 they pur- chased two hundred Miami Map Tourist Attractions acres in Orcutt and established Presqu’ile Winery. They recognized the potential of the Santa Maria appellation, where cooling ocean breezes flow west to east between two mountain ranges, creating the ideal terroir for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Two generations form the core business: Madison and Suzanne; Matt and his wife, Amanda; Matt’s brother, Jonathan, and his wife, Lindsay; and Matt and Jonathan’s sister, Anna. Winemaker Dieter Cronje and vineyard manager Jim Stollberg complete the main operational team. Presqu’ile planted seventy-three acres of sustainably farmed estate vineyards in 2008 and 2009: Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the flagship varieties, along with Sauvignon Blanc and small lots of Syrah and Nebbiolo.
