Although it is quite a sprawling town, Hailsham maintains a Barcelona Subway Map sturdy rural character and a certain gentility and charm: it boasts a thriving cattle market, its Barcelona Subway Map High Street contains some good Georgian buildings, there is a fifteenth-century church with a tower built in chequers of flint and squared stone, and there are plenty of good shops, pubs and cafes. It was once a thriving centre of the rope industry, and allegedly supplied cords used in prisons for executions.
Now back on the course of the old line, you go through the underpass and all is straightforward for a while. You go under the impressive Teinicks Bridge, a fine piece of brickwork, and then the less pleasing Eastwell Place Bridge, and the functional and wholly unappealing London Road Bridge. You are now moving away from the centre of Hailsham, but still have to negotiate a large modern housing estate. Initially you skirt the right-hand edge of it, but are then forced through the middle of it, though in fairness a path is provided for walkers.
