WYOMING STATE MAP PENNSYLVANIA

40,708 acres. This state forest in north-central Pennsylvania has ridges and plateaus, valleys with streams, a few ponds, and scenic Loyalsock Creek. There are two designated Natural Areas. Forests are of cherry, maple, beech, and other northern hardwoods. Wildlife includes deer, bear, and fox.

Activities: There’s one major trail here for backpacking and hiking, a portion of the 59-mile Loyalsock Trail (see entry page 253). Cross-country skiing is possible on some trails in winter. Whitewater canoeing is available on Loyalsock Creek. Hunting and fishing are permitted in season.

Camping Regulations: Camping is allowed in most parts of the forest, as are campfires, except where posted otherwise. Campsites should be at least 100 feet from trails and 200 feet from roads. A permit is required only for campers who choose to spend more than one night at any campsite.
