FORT PILLOW STATE HISTORIC AREA
1,650 acres. Located along the Mississippi River in western Tennessee, this park protects an area which was historically important during the Civil War. Terrain is hilly, with hardwood forests and a small lake. Wildlife includes deer and wild turkey.
Activities: The park has 15 miles of trails for hiking or backpacking. Fishing is available by the river.
Cam ping Regulations: Primitive camping is allowed at a single designated area, one-half mile along the Chickasaw Bluff Trail, and situated on a bluff which overlooks the Mississippi River. A free permit is required from the park office. Campfires may be built in the fire rings provided.

Camping is also allowed along an 11-mile backpacking trail in 1,720-acre Cumberland Mountain State Park, in east-central Tennessee. For more information contact Cumberland Mountain State
