ARRIVING AT SHENZHEN AIRPORT Most hotels will have an airport pickup service and you should enquire about this when you make your hotel booking. However, transport to and from Shenzhen city centre is easy by taxi and bus. Shenzhen airport is modern and it’s easy to find your way around. Unlike the other entry and exit points, there are no taxi touts and beggars so it is easy to take your time and find where you need to go. When you exit Shenzhen airport, there are clear signs directing you to bus and taxi stands.
Taxis
Taxi stands on the arrivals level. Taxis are by meter and fares to central Shenzhen are about $120.
The taxi stand has registered taxis and you will need to show the driver your destination written clearly in Chinese. See the Taxi section below for tips on taking taxis.
Remember that highway tolls are an add-on to the metered fare.
Public Bus
If you are adventurous you can try the public buses. Buses nos. K568, 327, 355, 602 and 651 go to downtown Shenzhen. Fares vary with distance. To the end of the route the fare is $20.
Bus stands are clearly marked. The destinations of buses are shown in English on screens.
You will need to have researched the name of your destination and then you will be able to find the right bus number. As the buses start their journey at the airport you will be able to get a seat. These buses are all stops and the trip will not be quick but it is affordable and taking the bus is convenient for budget travellers.
