Aman-i-Khas Ranthambore National Park, India
Delhi’s main train station is large and chaotic. It handles more than 500,000 passengers per day. Train tickets to the resort are booked via Aman. It’s always quiet here since most guests prefer to lounge at their own tents. Aman-i-Khas is a seasonal property. It closes from 1 June to 30 September each year during India’s monsoon season. Aman-i-Khas is one of the smallest Aman properties. 11iis is me sic inu-cuone spa tent. The tent houses two intimate treatment rooms, styled in a safari-like decor. The tent has a bubbling fountain at its center. Treatments include massages, scrubs and traditional henna art using local herbs & spices. Aman was founded in 1988 by hotelier Adrian Zee. Zecha believed in the concept of a chain of minimalist boutique hotels in rem.

Aman-i-Khas features ten fabulous guest tents. They are located along two pathways that embrace a grassland. The tents are positioned to ensure utmost privacy They echo the rich Moghul traveling tents of bygone days. I stayed in this tent during my visit. All tents are identical in design and layout. A soaring bedroom, living area and bathroom are separated by white cotton drapes. The tent is air-conditioned and also naturally cooled by a constant breeze. The cotton drapes descend from the tent’s canopy.
The tent is elegantly furnished. Furniture is minimal and unobtrusive, mimicking the traveling camps of an earlier time. The bathroom features his and her sinks. A free-standing bathtub with shower and toilet is located on the tent’s other side. The tent’s center features an oversized daybed. This is ideal for lounging before and after tiger safaris. The tent’s rear section houses the master bed. A beautiful leather chest placed in front of the bed doubles as a minibar. I am a fan of the Aman brand. People of my kind like to call themselves “Aman junkies”. Aman junkies are not always ultra-wealthy people. I would rather spend my money on 2 nights in an Aman than 2 weeks in another hotel. Are you an Aman junkie?. Leave a comment. Aman-i-Khas offers safaris in Ranthambore National Park. The resort has its own open-top jeeps which seat a maximum of 6 guests. Safaris are not included in the room rate. They take place twice daily, early in the morning or late afternoon. Ranthambore is also a famous heritage site. The evocative ruins of a 1000-year-old hill fort lie within the reserve. I only spotted one tiger during three consecutive days. The tiger was hidden in a dense bush. Can you spot him? :-). Unfortunately, Ranthambore isn’t very tranquil. Once a tiger is spotted, traffic jams of tourist jeeps occur, ruining the natural experience.
