Even with its immensity, the determined traveler can fly direct from Miami to either Belem, at the mouth of the Amazon River, or to Manaus, the unofficial capital of the region, about half way up the river. Winemaker Neil Collins ferments the wine using native yeasts, which impart characteristic flavors specific to the site.
