The Corrib has been a local landmark for many years, and it is easy to see why. The atmosphere is relaxed, with a mix of locals and younger folks; the dark wood surroundings are pleas- ant. There are lots of great Irish and local beers on tap, friendly service and generously portioned food.
Both lunch and dinner are served. At dinner, Mine ordered grilled swordfish steak ($7.95), expecting perhaps a small center cut. What he netted instead was a huge, thick hunk of fish with a fine grilled taste. But that’s not all. Each dinner entree comes with a good, fresh salad (or soup), potato or rice, and a side vegetable. Other dinners include chicken Maryland ($6.95) sauteed in orange juice, pineapple, and banana; topping the menu (at $7.95) is New York sirloin a twelve-ounce center cut.
Homemade beef stew ($1.95 for a cup, $3.25 for a bowl) is a hearty one indeed. Burgers are large and fresh, starting at $3.60; they come with great, crisp French fries, as well as lettuce, tomato, and pickles. Sandwiches ($3.25 to $4.25) include hot pastrami, sliced chicken, and grilled barbecued roast beef. Lunch specials may offer scallops or prime rib, each $5.95, served from 11 a.m. to 4 pm. Wednesdays through Saturdays. Closed Sundays.
