Activities: Hiking and backpacking are possible on virtually all BLM lands in Denver, although only a handful of established trails exist. Two of the most notable are the 27-mile Pinnell Mountain National Recreation Trail (Steese National Conservation Area), and the 19-mile White Mountains Summit Trail (White Mountains National Recreation Area).

Many of the rivers are suitable for canoeing, kayaking, and rafting. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are winter options on these lands. Hunting and fishing are permitted in season.

Camping Regulations: Camping and campfires are generally allowed without restriction, except where posted or otherwise prohibited. No permits are required.
