A novel approach to Mexican food: Mix and match your ingredients by circling exactly what you want and how much of each item on an order form. For example, a single chicken fajita plate is $8.10; additional orders will be $7.38 if you’re going to share. There are also beef, shrimp, and vegetable fajitas. They all come to your table in a piping hot skillet, with guacamole, pico de gallo sauce, and tortillas.

Nachos are the other staple here, and they offer even more choices, allowing you to build your own nacho plate with such toppings as beans, chili, chicken, extra cheese, etc. The concept extends to the Ritas as well circle on the rocks or frozen, twelve-ounce or liter, regular or strawberry. Plenty of good beers on the list too, including Pacifico, Te-cate, Sierra Nevada and Lone Star; sangria too.

The atmosphere is part of the show at F & R; it’s rollicking during the evenings, with the added fun of crayons and white paper table coverings so you can doodle while you eat. Past masterpieces are usually on display. Open 11:30 A.M. to 9 P.M. daily (Saturdays they sleep in til noon).
