Today we’ve escaped the hustle and bustle of London proper, on a day trip to southeastern England to explore Leeds Castle, Canterbury, and the Cliffs of Dover. Leeds Castle is really fun to explore, because over its 900-year history, it’s taken on different formations. And you can see that in the styles of the rooms and buildings. We’ve made our way into the Henry VIII banquet hall, so, this is where he would host his guests, and wine and dine them. That was really magnificent, but now, we have to head on to the next stop.

So we made a stop in Canterbury, we have some time to walk around, get a bite to eat, and check out a local British town. Canterbury Cathedral here in Kent is one of the oldest and most famous cathedrals in all of England. It kind of takes your breath away. I mean, the magnitude of this space, it’s so miraculous. While you’re down here in southeastern England you have to make a quick stop at Dover, to see the Cliffs of Dover.
This is the closest point to France. Our final stop of the day, the Battle of Britain memorial. In the Battle of Britain, 1500 pilots lost their lives, and this memorial is dedicated to them with all of their names on this plaque. It’s been an excellent day trip, and now I’m ready to head back to London.
