Nightlife Ciudad del Este

Tourists will find Ciudad del Este has a very active nightlife featuring a slew of upscale clubs and bars. Expect prices to be significantly higher than those of comparable Asuncion locales. While many people choose to cross over to Foz do Iguazu, Ciudad del Este is becoming popular with Brazilians who make the trek in reverse to take advantage of favorable exchange rates. Most of the best options are located about ten minutes by cab from the center of town in the residential neighborhood of Barrio Boqueron although there are some options in the city center. It is best to take a taxi at night to avoid walking through the mayhem of downtown afterhours (when cleanup crews are dealing with the debris left by the day’s economic activity).

Cerca del Rfo (CRK) A bit removed from the center, this pub has a modern ambience bathed in multicolored lights, numerous flat screen TVs and a great view of the Friendship bridge. Music is mostly rock with frequent classic and Latin rock tribute acts as well.
