If there’s a game on TV it’s going to be playing on one of the 18 flat-screen televisions at Champions. It’s a small sports bar on the ground floor of the Charlotte Marriott City Center that is filled with fans on game days. The bar dominates the small space and it can be difficult to get a seat or belly up to the bar for a beer. Servers squeeze their way through the crowds of NBA, NFL, NHL, and college sports fans to serve up pub grub and pints of beer. Cheering, jeering, and general rowdiness are expected here, especially on game days.

Pub grub is served at many of Charlotte’s sports bars.

In the fall of 1687, Edmund Andros takes control of Connecticut, bringing it into the political entity known as the Dominion of New England. Connecticut never technically surrenders its charter, and legend has it that it was hidden in the Charter Oak in Hartford.
