SHENZHEN Terminal One CITY PLAZA
We like Terminal One City Plaza. It’s in a modern 10-storey building around a large public square. It has a Seibu department store, surely Shenzhen’s most upmarket department store, and many international luxury brand stores. In the basement there is a large Jusco. Jusco is the well-known Japanese Department store with clothes, household goods and very good supermarket. For relaxing in between shopping, there is KFC, Haagen Dazs and Pizza Hut. The Starbucks here is a common meeting-place for foreigners.
We mentioned that Shenzhen’s city planners liked the idea of bar streets and Terminal One’s bar streets is one of the biggest. If you like to take your cocktail or glass of beer in a pleasant outdoor setting, the International Bar Street in the Plaza is for you. Many bars specialise in beers from different countries. There are giant outdoor heaters in winter. Small stores set up in the square at night, adding colour and action to the streetscape.
