Located in the community of Buckhead, approximately 70 miles east of Atlanta, the Museum and Archives are dedicated to the life and work of American German Expressionist Steffen Wolfgang George Thomas. The facility consists of exhibition galleries, archival storage space, and extensive administrative and operational facilities. The Museum is engaged in programs to publish and license for publishing all the images of the artists life work and to develop, design, and assemble exhibitions for university, museum and commercial galleries. The Archive is charged with housing and preserving various collections of the artists works, papers, and memorabilia and with assembling complete documentation of the artists professional life, including an electronic catalogue raisonne. While it houses and displays a significant number of original works by Steffen Thomas, it does so as a service; all are privately owned.
