JAMAICA WHERE THE ALLINCLUSIVE WAS BORN

There’s an old-school romantic element to many Jamaican all-inclusives, perhaps because the concept of a couples-only property was created here 40 years ago. And there’s still a distinct midcentury vibe refreshed with a pretty pastel palette at 218-room Couples Tower Isle in Ocho Rios. A favorite venue is the resort’s private island, where a Signature Wedding includes a gazebo ceremony, music, photos and a one-hour cocktail reception for up to 40 people with open bar, hors d’oeuvres and cake (from $4,750).

Follow that with a private buff et reception with open bar from $95 per person (or dine with your group at one of the resort’s restaurants, like the colonialchic Eight Rivers, for no extra charge). Rooms from $165 per person, all-inclusive. For a more intimate vibe, the four-bedroom Seaweed Villa and a neighboring threebedroom cottage sleep 14 and can host a sit-down reception around the infi nity pool.

And because the properties are part of Jakes Treasure Beach, overfl ow guests have a place to stay nearby. Seaweed Villa rentals start at $5,300 for three nights (including a full staff and private chef ); a ceremony and reception with an open bar begins at $6,500 for 40 people.
