The Holden Historical Society Museum is located in a 1911 building that has served as a town hall and fire hall. The upper floor was used as a community hall, dance hall, and silent-movie theatre. In 1935, the Mason family took over the building and still uses the upstairs, while the main floor holds the museum, complete with an original jail cell.

Museum visitors will see a pioneer kitchen, general store, church, schoolroom, barbershop, tool shed, and parlour adorned with handcrafted items. Children will enjoy the hands-on displays, dressing up in period costumes, and stepping inside a real jail. Outside, check out the 1909 hand-operated fire hose cart, pich oven, and old disc plow.

Be sure to check out the miniature Village of Holden, complete with rail yards, passenger train station, and grain elevator. Historically accurate, the replica reveals how the community looked from 1909 to 1911. The project took two volunteers more than 4,000 hours to build, not including the time spent on additionsthe grist mill, steam engine, and Case steam tractor, made with 100 parts.
