Park Hyatt Hamburg, Germany

A few impressions before starting my tour. Park Hyatt Hamburg is a 5 star luxury hotel in Hamburg’s city center. This post also includes some sightseeing in Hamburg. IMHO, Hamburg is Germany’s most beautiful city. The Moenckebergstrasse is a charming area. It is home to large department stores, fashion boutiques and small retail business). Most of the city’s attractions are within walking diet This includes the Elbphilharmonie concert hall and the historical warehouse dist.

The building was renovated and refurbished in the 1990s. The lower floors now feature the upscale Levantehaus shopping mall. The hotel occupies the building’s upper floors. You can enter the hotel via the mall from the Moenckebergstrasse. The hotel occupies the building’s upper. A doughnut hole opening extends through the building. It creates a nice visual effect in both the mall and the hotel. Most guests are dropped and picked up here by taxis. There’s a small welcome foyer on the ground floor. It connects the main entrance to the Levantehaus shopping mall.

The main lobby is located on the second floor. Elevators shuttle guests between the main lobby and the ground floor reception area. The lobby has a classic decor. It features a couple of lounge areas with nice flower arrangements. The design makes use of a lot of wood. The immaculate parquet flooring is impressive. i nere a set of glass elevators on one side and three reception desks on the other. The central lobby area has a circular shape. The hotel lobby has a chic feel. The use of wood, low ceiling and lack of daylight create an oppressive ambience though. The guest room floors feel a bit old-fashioned. There’s no denying that the hotel could use refurbishment in certain areas. I stayed in this room during my stay. Room category: deluxe room. The room is very spacious. It features one king bed, a work desk, a lounger, and a small closet. The room’s decor is classic. It features a neutral color palette of buttercream, taupe and denim. Although chic, the room doesn’t really have a wow factor. At this price point, some guests may feel a little disappointed. The hotel is planning a renovation project. This will include different parts of the property (such as the rooms & the spa). The bathroom feels luxurious.

The open plan layout does not allow for a lot of privacy if you are traveling with a friend. The toiletries are from L’Occitane. They are daily replenished.
