Rome Craft Beer Drinking Go To Via Di Benedetta And You’ll Be Happy

It’d be easy to write a few hundred words on Rome as a Bucket List city. You’ve got the sights, the history, the food. We all know that and we should all have been or want to go to this remarkable place. It’s also a great city for beer, with many great bars, but if you were only to go to two places, then head to Via di Benedetta, in Trastevere, because there, opposite each other, you’ll find Ma Che Siete Venuti a Fa (at number 25) and Bir & Fud (number 23). Ma Che Siete Venuti a Fa (which means something like “what the hell are you doing here?”) is otherwise known as “the football pub” because of the football memorabilia and scarves on the walls. It’s a small bar with a big reputation for the best beers, where you’re always going to find exceptional Italian beers on tap, plus a lot from Belgium and Germany. On hot nights people spill onto the cool, shaded street outside, and from there you can eye up where you’ll be going for dinner, because, as the name basically tells you, at Bir & Fud you’ll get your beer and your food. They have excellent pizza and a lot of craft beer— and we all love pizza and beer.
