SHENZHEN MAP IN ENGLISH

TRAPS FOR YOUNG PLAYERS You know that it’s called the Hilton or the Marriot or the Ritz Carlton and, as an experienced world traveller, you may think you may think such names are universally understood.

Wrong.

In Chinese, hotel names, even proprietary names, rarely bear any resemblance whatsoever to their corresponding names in English. Make sure you have the name of your hotel in Chinese characters before you attempt to communicate it to a taxi driver. If you say its name in English, he will not understand.

LUOHU

Five Star Hotels Luohu Shangri-La Hotel

This is perhaps the best-known hotel in Shenzhen. It was the first major international hotel to be built and is a five-minute walk from the Hong Kong border. It is also next to the Luohu Commercial City, the Luohu bus terminus and the Shenzhen metro.

In addition to being close to all local transport, the Shangri-La is adjacent to the inter-city train station, making it an ideal location if you are spending a few days in Shenzhen and then going on by train to Guangzhou or other parts of China.

The Shangri-La has a comprehensive range of business services, a ballroom and many conference rooms.

Because the Shangri-La is the longest established luxury hotel in Shenzhen, its bar and restaurants are Shenzhen institutions: the 360 degree bar for enjoying a glass of champagne and a spectacular view, the Shang Palace for authentic Cantonese food, Champs Bar & Grill for a typical American sports bar and the award-winning Coffee Garden for all-day dining.

Also a short walk from the Hong Kong border, located across the road from the Shenzhen Railway Station, the Best Western is close to all the Luohu transport options.

This is also a long-established hotel and has many facilities such as all-day casual dining. It provides excellent value for money.
