Private Tour Venice Grand Canal Evening Boat Tour
It is a beautiful evening here in Venice and it’s only going to get more beautiful. I’m going to jump on a water taxi and take a tour of the Grand Canal. It doesn’t get any better than this. I’m on this little boat, my guide is great, she’s telling me all about the history of Venice. And I can’t even imagine that this city has been here since the 10th and 11th centuries and it’s looked the exact same. It’s classic, it’s cozy, it’s perfect. We’re now passing a unique boat yard. This is where they actually make the gondolas all by hand and it takes about three months to make one of these works of art.

This is something that you don’t think about everyday, these doors right here used to be the front doors they would just row up on their boat and walk straight into their homes. Now a days they use the door up on the ground level, but these all right here, that’s your front door, it goes right into your living room. So I’m not just drinking any old drink this is a traditional Venetian specialty called sptitz. It includes white wine, a little bit of campari and some soda and it is refreshing and good and it just tastes so much better here, on the water. That was absolute magic. I don’t want to be on solid ground now.
